Galle Tour

Galle Fort begun by the Portuguese in the 16th century, expanded by the Dutch in the 17th Century and consolidated by the British in the 19th century, is not a historical ruin but has been transformed into a living, thriving contemporary settlement. Located at the southwest corner of the island the Fort covers 52ha and contains within its broad, grey granite rampart walls, nearly 500 houses. Entrance to the Fort is through either of two main gates, one of which contains the Dutch Coat of Arms on one side and the British on the other. The Fort is Number 200 on UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites and is free to enter and explore. The cobbled streets are lined with houses from the Dutch and British periods, with some art deco masterpieces, many of which have been converted into boutique shops and stylish guest houses.

Kandy & Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage Tour

Sigiriya & Dambulla Tour

The remains of Sigiriya constructed by King Kasapa I (477-495 AD) whom the Mahavansa introduces as a patricide lie five miles off Inamaluwa on the Dambulla-Habarana Road. On the west of the rock are ponds, the remains of summer palaces and other structures, and the first part of the ancient road, which led to the summit Ramparts. In the past the entire western face of the rock had been covered with plaster and painted upon, but only those paintings in two sheltered pockets now survive. The last lap of the ancient path to the summit had been through the mouth of a lion, but at present only parts of the lion’s legs and some of the lime stone steps from inside the lion’s mouth survives.

Yala Jeep Safari Tour

Udawalawe Jeep Safari Tour

Udawalawa lies south of the central hills of the island, and it surround the manmade reservoir of Udawalawa, which is part of the park. It is a mixture of abandoned teak plantation, scrub jungle & grassland. The dry season is best to watch many herds of elephant that roam the park; which is usually between May & September. Almost the entire park is covered with tall, reedy Pohon grass, which grows all year round. Udawalawe is a superb place to watch elephants. An estimated 450 elephants live here.
